Senior AI Architect (Consultant)
We are seeking a seasoned Senior AI Architect to lead the adoption of artificial intelligence across our organization. This role involves more than just building models; it requires designing, governing, and operationalizing AI systems on a large scale. The ideal candidate will collaborate with leadership to drive execution and ensure secure, scalable implementation of AI and agent-based systems.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end AI architecture across Azure, including OpenAI, machine learning, data, and security.
Define and implement AI/agent strategies involving RAG, APIs, MCP, and orchestration frameworks.
Drive internal AI enablement through tools, workflows, training, and best practices.
Partner with executives and stakeholders to prioritize and execute AI initiatives.
Design and oversee LLM integration, focusing on model selection, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
Establish governance, security, and guardrails to prevent misuse or risk associated with AI technologies.
Build scalable systems for continuous improvement and integration of AI capabilities.
Guide teams on prompting, evaluating, and optimizing outputs iteratively.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as an AI Architect or Enterprise Architect, not just as a developer.
Strong expertise in the Azure ecosystem, including Azure OpenAI, data platforms, and security.
In-depth understanding of RAG, API-based, and agent-based architectures.
Knowledge of LLM capabilities, tradeoffs, and model selection.
Experience in system design for scalable AI deployment.
Proven ability to implement secure, production-grade AI systems.
Capability to lead cross-functional teams and influence leadership.
Experience in building AI strategies and execution roadmaps, beyond just coding solutions.
Work Environment
This position operates within a corporate headquarters of a global company that specializes in product development and manufacturing. The environment is dynamic and requires collaboration across various departments to achieve the integration of advanced AI technologies.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $150.00/hr.
