Part-Time Design Engineer
We are searching for an experienced Part-Time Design Engineer to join our team at our Mankato, MN facility. This role is ideal for someone who can manage multiple projects efficiently while working in a flexible, part-time capacity.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Create manufacturing drawings and documentation based on customer orders, requirements, and specifications
Develop submittal drawings for customer approval
Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) in ERP system per project-specific requirements
Perform 3D parametric modeling
Provide technical support to the plant during product manufacturing
Create installation instructions and parts manuals
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Drafting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 4 years of design experience
Experience with 3D parametric software (Inventor, CREO, SolidWorks)
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Ability to create and maintain clear instruction and procedure documents
Additional Skills / Attributes:
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
Strong attention to detail and accountability
Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity
Strong communication skills across teams
Proven problem-solving ability
Solid mathematical aptitude
Compensation:
Part-time, salaried exempt position. Annual salary (pro-rated based on part-time schedule).
