Stryker Neurovascular is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership on complex, high‑impact product development programs. This role will drive system‑level design, guide technical decision‑making, and mentor engineering teams while partnering cross‑functionally to deliver innovative, compliant neurovascular solutions that improve patient outcomes.

What you will do:

Serve as the technical design lead for high‑visibility neurovascular programs, making final design decisions and providing technical oversight across extended teams.

Translate user, clinical, and business needs into clear design inputs and specifications; independently architect and deliver complex system‑level designs through product release.

Lead research, design, prototyping, testing, and development of complex modules, assemblies, and subsystems, guiding resolution of advanced product design issues.

Apply and mentor others in advanced engineering theories, principles, and best practices, while acting as a recognized technical expert within the business.

Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure on‑time, compliant project execution.

Ensure medical device compliance by leading and mentoring on industry standards, design controls, test strategies, and creation of robust engineering documentation (e.g., DHF).

Contribute to technology strategy, innovation, and IP, including technology exploration, invention disclosures, patents, or trade secrets aligned to business objectives.

Demonstrate strong business acumen by supporting competitive and market strategy, engaging in customer‑facing activities (VoC, customer‑centric design), reporting to leadership, and holding self and others accountable for high‑quality results.

What You Need
Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related discipline).

Minimum 6+ years of progressive engineering experience, with increasing technical responsibility.

Experience working in the medical device industry.

Demonstrated expertise in medical device product design, including development of complex systems and components.

Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):

Experience with laser‑cut hypotube processing and design, as well as catheter, guidewire, and vascular device development.

Proven experience serving as a Lead Engineer on complex, cross‑functional product development programs.

Strong background in designing and optimizing complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical assemblies, incorporating DFM principles, advanced prototyping, and design validation.

Demonstrated expertise in engineering drawings, 3D modeling, GD&T, and CAE tools, with deep knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
