Job Summary
Under the supervision of the CFC Director and the general direction of either the Lead or Instructional Teacher, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting the teaching team in implementing the educational program for the Infant/Toddler and/or Preschool programs in the Child and Family Center, Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Key Responsibilities
Directly support the care and supervision of the infant/toddler and/or preschool classrooms.
Support the implementation of the curriculum. Under the direction of the supervising teacher, set up appropriate activities daily.

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,516 - $3,640 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,516 - $4,218 per month.

Education and Experience
Required:
6 semester units of coursework in early childhood education or child development required (12 units preferred) including at least 3 semester units in each core area: Child/human growth and development, Child, Family, and Community, or Child and Family Relations, and Programs/Curriculum.
Possess or qualify for a Child Development Permit- Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher from the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
LIVESCAN: A background check (including a criminal records check) and LiveScan check must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with CSU.
Preferred:
Complete at least three units in Infant/Toddler Development.
50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care setting.
