Overview
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full‑time experienced Program Quality Engineer to perform as the technical lead of a quality engineering team that will execute Engineering Quality Assurance tasks on new Program Designs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform engagement with Engineering Manufacturing and Sustainment Engineering oversight.
Develop related command media and Standard work for the team and generate performance metrics and lead RCCA activities.
Ensure quality engineering input is accounted for and modeled appropriately in all value chains.
Provide input to the contract review processes, requirements distillation processes, program planning processes, product design, product quality planning, supplier quality/sourcing activities, and sustainment operations.
Operate in both model‑based and non‑model‑based programs and communicate functional requirements to the 1LMX capability development teams.
Key Deliverables of a Lead Design Quality Engineer
Leverage keen knowledge of aerospace, mechanical, electrical, and/or structural engineering to collaborate with design engineering throughout the design maturing and release processes to identify and define proper datum schemes, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), key characteristics, statistical tolerancing, and other requirements of concern.
Identify and correct inspect ability issues of designs prior to engineering release.
Collect Design Quality data to be used for process improvement and RCCA projects.
Run Design Corrective Action Board.
Ensure proposals include Design QE content and manage DQE performance to AMMM EVMS objectives.
Engage with Engineering leadership at the site level to partner on design improvements.
Ensure DQe Design Review schedule performance meets LOB targets.
Provide leadership and mentoring to team members.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline from an accredited college.
Proven technical leadership experience in the Aerospace and Defense.
Broad experience with metrology and product verification methods and capabilities.
Desired Skills
Master’s Degree from an accredited college.
Strong aircraft technical acumen.
Expert knowledge of G&DT, its application within a design dataset, and the usage by manufacturing.
Broad experience with typical aircraft production processes.
Demonstrated performance with failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), control plans, FAI planning, statistical process control.
Knowledge of aerospace contracting processes, supply chain management, and sustainment operations.
Experience setting up and running simulations for tolerance stack analysis, production impacts from quality issues, factory flow/efficiency, supply chain resiliency, and/or operational sustainment activities.
Quality management system (QMS) assessments and audits.
Experience with teaching and mentoring team members.
Cameo and MBSE experience.
This role is necessary to execute contractual obligations for Design Quality tasks on newly awarded and UCA AMMM contracts.
