Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.

Arizona Teacher Certification.

Must be highly qualified to teach special education.

Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.

REPORTS TO:

Executive Director of Student Services

JOB GOAL:

To increase special education student academic achievement by providing support and coaching for teachers.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Increases special education student achievement by supporting effective instructional practices

Assists special education teachers in utilizing district-adopted instructional programs

Leads and supports special education teachers in progress monitoring student achievement

Provides professional development related to effective instructional practices for special education students

Provides instructional coaching through modeling, co‑teaching, observing, feedback

Supports special education teachers in meeting the expectations of the Learning Observation Instrument

Plans and facilitates professional development related to Student Services goals

Conducts informal classroom observations to support Student Services goals

Attends necessary meetings and trainings pertinent to improving student achievement

Supports intervention practices to improve student behavior

Supports integration of technology

Supports Common Core implementation

Performs other duties as assigned

Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios.

Read a variety of manuals; write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others.

Understand multi‑step written and oral instructions.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, preferred accounting used software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).

Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.

Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

Ten‑month, full‑time, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.

$58,927 Per Year
