Position: Communications Representative / Operator
Full Time Status
Night Shift
Pay: Starting at $15.30 / hour
Summary
This position provides excellent customer service and assistance to all. It handles the flow of communication quickly and efficiently and alerts all involved parties during disasters, emergencies, and drills. The Communications Representative is responsible for intake of all inbound calls to the Mosaic Life Care main phone number and code line, transferring calls, paging out messages to various Mosaic Life Care caregivers/providers, and connecting caregivers, patients, and visitors to facilitate patient care. The Communications Representative utilizes multiple means of telecommunication to serve the customer in both emergent and non‑emergent situations.
Under the supervision of the Emergency Management/Communications Manager and employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
Answers telephones and handles incoming and outgoing calls in an efficient, expedient manner; connects callers with the proper destination based on request or interpretation of caller need.
Intakes and communicates Shared Services telephone requests that require 24/7 service.
Acts as communication liaison by utilizing multiple forms of telecommunication to connect and relay information to all Mosaic Life Care caregivers, patients, and visitors.
Performs correct procedure for contacting "on‑call" caregivers to facilitate patient care.
Notifies pharmacy/distribution of Code Blue Cart Exchange.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
Ability to communicate using multiple forms of telecommunication.
Proficiency in medical terminology.
Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize.
Experience as a secretary in a health care setting preferred.
Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute and computer literacy preferred.
