Simulation/System Laboratory Engineer (Electrical) – Design, development, and sustainment of high‑fidelity test facilities for integrated systems.
Mission Systems Design Engineer (Electrical) – Design and fabrication of prototype and low‑level production of systems and components.
Instrumentation Design Engineer (Electrical) – Design, development, integration, and support of flight‑worthy, ruggedized onboard instrumentation.
Aircraft/Shipboard Mod/Prototype/Parts Design Engineer (Electrical) – Design, manufacture, and installation of aircraft, shipboard, and ground station components.
J.F. Taylor, Inc. is seeking engineers to contribute to all phases of the design cycle including requirements generation, design, production, troubleshooting/testing, and delivery/installation. The role involves working in a team setting with Project Managers, Engineers, Testers, and Technicians. Tasking will consist of the following:
Electrical engineering design, integration, and test of electrical interfaces for power distribution systems, I/O systems, real‑time audio and visual systems, digital data networks, and for the integration of aircraft avionics into simulators, trainers, and labs.
Generate, read, and comprehend electronic schematic diagrams.
PCB design development using tools such as OrCAD.
FPGA design with Xilinx and Altera.
Development and utilization of GERBER files.
Interfacing with RS232, RS422, CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, RS485, high‑speed design, 1553, and ARINC 429.
Cable design for laboratory and military applications.
Support requirements and documentation development, and assist with test planning and execution.
Read and understand software code in C, C++, C#, and JAVA.
Utilize engineering tools, primarily AutoCAD and WindChill.
Adhere to military/DoD aircraft avionics systems, interfaces, and power requirements.
Adhere to military and industrial standards such as Mil‑STD‑704, HOST, and Open VPX.
Work individually and as part of a team.
Position Requirements
Degree: B.S. Electrical Engineering or related field
Years of Experience: 0‑5 years preferred, but all will be considered.
The candidate must have the ability to generate, read, and comprehend electronic schematic diagrams.
Preferred: experience with electrical engineering design, integration, and test of electrical systems.
Strong desire for experience with AutoCAD/Windchill.
Experience with military/DoD aircraft avionics systems, interfaces, and power requirements is a plus.
Experience with CAD, circuit simulation, and circuit card assembly (CCA) design is a plus.
Salary Range: $80,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience.
Employment Type: Full‑Time or Part‑Time, Full‑Time.
Clearance: Secret Eligible.
Travel: Opportunities for travel are available; not required for all positions.
