**Overview**
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of **Student Assistant** in the Special Collections and Archives Department. This position will contribute to the Alabama Authors of the 18th & 20th Centuries digital project. The ideal candidate will be a high-achieving, self-motivated sophomore or junior with an interest in developing skills in at least one of the following areas: literary studies, computer science, digital humanities, non-profit organization promotion, scholarly publishing, data science, open-source software, and the open-access movement. The Student Assistant will gain excellent experience managing and expanding content for the Alabama Authors of the 18th & 20th Centuries website, AlabamaAuthors.org.
**Responsibilities**
+ Supports the development of project proposals, plans, and protocols
+ Conducts routine or fundamental investigations and/or studies related to digital humanities at Auburn
+ Assists with logistical considerations to include equipment, materials, and labor needs
+ Collects data related to others' research in related fields
+ Records, compiles, processes, and analyzes data
+ Documents results and observations in writing as well as communicating results to others
+ Under supervision, may assist in the preparation of research results for publication or presentation
+ Other duties as assigned
