Team Description
Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) is responsible for engineering, designing & operating telecommunications and network system to meet business requirements, goals and objectives encompassing a wide range of transport topologies, advanced networking services and network protocols that are in accordance with Telecom Strategy & Architecture standards and guidelines.
What You’ll Do
Deliver business unit related projects, including researching, configuring and recommending new technologies in association with project requests and developing scope‑of‑work requirements.
Create and review designs for adherence to GNEO strategy, standards and security policy.
Develop project physical‑layer design documents and BOMs; perform site audits and assessments; produce Telecom Room layouts, rack elevation plans, optical riser backbone drawings, labeling schemes, detailed material BOMs, Division 27 documents, cutover plans, runlists, and other required design documents.
Design horizontal cabling systems & supporting components, optical riser backbone systems, OSP optical campus backbones & pathways, cable tray conveyance systems, conduits, pull‑boxes, outlets, work‑station feeds, floor termination devices, and more.
Program and design Telecom Rooms, including overall room layouts, power, HVAC, grounding, racks, runways, HCM, VCM, etc.
Determine labor, equipment and wiring costs; manage project expenses against estimates; identify new and improved methods to satisfy infrastructure requirements and provide technical material needed for documentation.
Track timeline and financial forecast against stated objectives; ensure proper transition to operations with required KPIs and design documentation.
Utilize creativity and initiative to explore alternative means of completing assignments.
Collaborate closely with the network delivery services department to define and document services and associated service levels, ensuring a consistent delivery model for network services in the local region and provide required training to support new technologies.
Implement technical aspects of the network facilities strategy, architecture, design, and documentation/communication of roadmaps and standards; participate in all physical network infrastructure (cabling, cabinets, HVAC, GPON, UPS, etc.) related matters and technology.
Demonstrate technical acumen, business acumen, strong communication skills, and professional maturity in representing the department in business discussions.
Conduct capacity planning surveys to ensure technical and operational models meet overall building and business requirements.
Understand facility requirements for Telecommunications Rooms build‑out, including power, HVAC, PDUs, and grounding.
Research technologies and products, meet with vendors, address technical issues/deficiencies, and influence new products and services to meet growing and changing requirements.
Night and weekend work may be required to support project requirements.
Lead capacity planning and ensure technical and operational designs meet overall design and business requirements; provide architecture, design, and construction oversight for the physical‑layer network facilities infrastructure; apply and communicate architectures, standards and frameworks internally and across the company.
Act as an engineering expert to evaluate evolving connection‑oriented (cabling) technology and serve as a consultant interface for new and major remodel construction projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of direct experience in building construction, electrical, and communications infrastructure design & implementation.
Knowledge of EIA/TIA standards and building codes.
Ability to effectively multi‑task and prioritize multiple projects of varying size and complexity with successful and timely completion.
Excellent communication and relationship skills, including the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non‑technical staff, and to articulate business issues/concerns with staff, peers, senior leadership, and outside parties.
Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $117,500.00 to $157,500.00 per year. Base pay may vary based on internal equity, geographic region, and candidate experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
