Wednesday - Saturday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
About the Role

The Thin Film Technician supports optical coating operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining coating chamber systems used to apply specialized thin-film coatings to optical components. This is a hands‑on role in a highly controlled, process‑driven environment—well suited for someone interested in precision optics, thin‑film technology, and manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with production and coating teams to maintain quality, safety, and consistency throughout each coating cycle.
What You’ll Do

Set up and operate thin film coating chamber systems
Prepare and assemble tooling, spacers, and backers
Load and unload optical components into coating chambers
Perform chamber preparation, including foiling, target changes, regens, and bead blasting
Start and monitor coating runs
Perform basic spectrophotometer scans on coated optics
Monitor chamber conditions, status, cleanliness, and quality impact
Perform basic crystal error recovery as needed
Handle chemicals safely and dispose of them per established procedures
Support 6S workplace organization and cleanliness
Follow all safety guidelines and promote safe work habits
Work collaboratively in a team‑based production environment
Assist with additional duties as needed
What You Bring

High School Diploma or GED preferred
Basic math and problem‑solving skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and standard MS Office tools
Manufacturing or process‑driven experience a plus, but not required
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Additional Requirements

Work may involve material governed by ITAR regulations
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
