Summary
The Front Office Agent / Night Auditor at Hyatt House San Jose / Silicon Valley is responsible for delivering an excellent guest experience during evening and overnight hours while ensuring the accuracy of daily hotel financial and operational reporting. This position combines front desk service with nightly accounting functions and plays a key role in maintaining smooth hotel operations, guest satisfaction, and audit compliance. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner during check-in and check-out.
Handle guest reservations, room assignments, billing inquiries, and service requests accurately.
Answer phone calls and respond to guest questions regarding hotel services, amenities, and local area information.
Resolve guest concerns with urgency, professionalism, and sound judgment.
Perform nightly audit procedures, including balancing room revenue, reconciling guest accounts, and closing out the day’s financial transactions.
Review and verify accuracy of charges, payments, adjustments, and folios.
Prepare daily reports for hotel leadership, including occupancy, revenue, and other required operational summaries.
Process credit card transactions, cash handling, and end-of-shift balancing according to Hyatt standards.
Monitor lobby and front desk activity to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment overnight.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address guest needs and operational issues.
Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and respond appropriately to overnight incidents or guest situations.
Support cleanliness and organization of the front desk, lobby, and market or public areas as needed.
Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, company policies, and audit procedures.
This is an hourly position with a compensation of $23 per hour.

Qualifications
Previous front desk, guest service, hotel night audit, or hospitality experience preferred.
Basic accounting, cashiering, or reconciliation experience preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work Friday and Saturday—overnight shifts, Tuesday—Thursday, AM or PM shifts.
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
Proficiency with hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in hospitality or business is a plus.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift, carry, or move up to moderate weight.
