For over 30 years, Minds Matter NYC has connected driven and determined students from low‑income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. Volunteer with Minds Matter NYC and help low‑income students achieve their college dreams.
Mentors
- Share insight from your own college and career journey, while also providing vital support and encouragement to your student through a three‑year curriculum.
Time Commitment: 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturdays (with the exception of school breaks and holidays), for three academic school years
Writing Advisors
- Help students develop their voice, make an argument using supporting evidence, and learn to be critical readers, ultimately developing strong personal narratives for college applications.
Time Commitment: 12 to 2 PM on Saturdays (with the exception of school breaks and holidays), for three academic school years
