At Black Star Pastry, we believe great coffee and great service go hand in hand. We’re looking for a Barista who takes real pride in their craft — someone confident on the machine, consistent in their delivery, and equally passionate about creating a warm, memorable customer experience.
All About the Role
Assigned to Barista duties in the majority, you’ll also be part of a Front of House team that supports each other across all aspects of service. From the coffee machine to the counter, every role contributes to the experience we’re known for.
In practice, and day to day, the key responsibilities could be best outlined as the following:
Dialling in and delivering high-quality, consistent coffee
Engaging with customers in a genuine, friendly way
Supporting front of house service — taking orders, running food, maintaining presentation
Working collaboratively with your team to create a smooth, positive service flow

Strong barista experience and confidence working independently on the machine
A natural ability to connect with people and read the room
A team-first mindset — happy to step in wherever needed
Pride in your work, attention to detail, and a calm, positive energy
Reliability and a willingness to learn and grow
High degree of diligence with Safe Food Handling and Hygiene practices.
Proven experience in creating brilliant coffee would be highly regarded.
A deep love for cake would be the cherry on top!
