Job Summary:
Guides students in producing and managing the school's morning announcements and broadcasts. This role involves teaching students about media production, overseeing the daily operations of the broadcast, and ensuring the content is appropriate and engaging for the school community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop a curriculum or program outline that covers the basics of broadcast journalism, media production, and communication skills.
Plan and organize the structure of the morning broadcasts, including the types of segments to be included (e.g., news, announcements, weather, sports, interviews, special features).
Teach students how to research, write, and deliver news stories and announcements.
Provide hands-on training in the technical aspects of broadcasting, such as operating cameras, sound equipment, editing software, and teleprompters.
Coach students on on-camera presence, voice modulation, and professional conduct.
Oversee the daily production of the broadcast, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and that the broadcast runs smoothly.
Coordinate the roles and responsibilities of the student team, including anchors, reporters, camera operators, editors, and technical support.
Performs other duties as required by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and/or Superintendent.
Education and Experience: Education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration
