Candidates Only)

MUST RESIDE IN THE EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE

Type:

Full-Time (37.5 hrs/week)

Work Schedule & Environment:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (37.5 hrs/week)

Telework eligible

(must reside in Eastern Standard Time zone)

On-site option available (Harrisburg, PA)

Required Qualifications

8–10+ years

in:

Enterprise Content Management (ECM)

Digital platform architecture

AEM or similar enterprise CMS platforms

Deep hands-on AEM expertise , including:

AEM as a Cloud Service

AEM Sites, Assets, Forms

Strong technical background in:

Java

Sling

Dispatcher

Front-end integration

Proven experience:

Assessing complex,

highly customized enterprise platforms

Identifying

supportability and architecture risks

Working with

vendor-built systems

Demonstrated ability to:

Develop

technical assessments and recommendations

Define

support models and governance strategies

Communicate effectively with

executive stakeholders

Experience with:

Confluence, SharePoint, Azure DevOps (or similar tools)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience transitioning platforms from:

Vendor-led → internal or hybrid support

Experience establishing:

Governance models

Customization standards

Change management frameworks

Experience supporting:

Public sector or large-scale digital platforms

Familiarity with:

AEM Cloud Manager pipelines

DevOps practices (CI/CD, branching, testing)

Knowledge of:

AEM security models

Accessibility standards

Experience contributing to:

Procurement (RFP/RFI)

SOW development

Architects who are not hands-on or cannot assess code and implementation

Candidates without experience evaluating

complex, vendor-built platforms

Pure strategists without delivery or assessment experience

senior AEM Solution Architect

to evaluate and transform one of its most visible digital platforms:

PA.gov .

The current

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM as a Cloud Service)

environment is:

Highly customized

Vendor-built

Not fully transparent to internal teams

This role exists to:

Bring clarity to the architecture

Identify

risk vs. sustainable design

Define a

long-term support and governance model

This is not a maintenance role-this is a

platform transformation and advisory engagement .

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Leading a

deep architectural assessment

of a complex AEM Cloud implementation

Identifying

over-customization, technical debt, and supportability risks

Defining a

future-state support model (internal vs vendor vs hybrid)

Translating technical complexity into

clear executive-level recommendations

Guiding

architecture, governance, and transition execution

You will operate as both:

A

hands-on architect

A

strategic technical advisor to leadership

Core Responsibilities

Platform Assessment & Architecture Review

Evaluate the current AEM Cloud implementation (Sites, Assets, Forms)

Identify:

Over-customization

Performance risks

Maintainability concerns

Recommend

simplification, remediation, and stabilization strategies

Support Model & Transition Strategy

Define what work should be:

Internal

Vendor-supported

Contractor-delivered

Build a

realistic transition plan

from vendor-led to sustainable support

Identify required

roles, skills, and team structure

Architecture & Technical Leadership

Lead architecture design across:

Components

Templates

Content models

Workflows

Provide guidance on:

Security

Performance

Best practices

Participate in:

Code reviews

Standards enforcement

Governance & Long-Term Supportability

Define

architecture guardrails and governance models

Establish standards for:

Customization

Change management

Platform evolution

Advise leadership on:

Technical debt

Risk tradeoffs

Long-term platform sustainability

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

Identify gaps in existing documentation

Establish documentation standards

Ensure

critical knowledge is retained internally-not vendor-dependent

Stakeholder & Executive Communication

Translate complex architecture into:

Clear recommendations

Actionable decisions

Vendor & Contractor Oversight

Evaluate current vendor implementation and responsibilities
