To therapeutically facilitate purposeful occupational role performances of patients to improve both physical and mental functioning abilities. Therapy will be completed in accordance with the patient's developmental, psychological, and physical level of function. Therapists will exemplify ethical conduct as described in the facility mission statement and the North Dakota Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners Code of Ethics.

*Job Requirements:*
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
* LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current license from the North Dakota Board of Occupational Therapy Examiner required (LOT). Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy preferred (OTR). Rec Therapist Certification – CTRS.
* One-year experience in a neurorehabilitation or psychiatric setting, preferred.
* PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sustain activity eight hours or more a day. Able to remain on feet eight hours per day. Able to confront a dangerous and aggressive patient. Able to verbally communicate to de-escalate a crisis, explain treatment to the patient to allow active participation, and to protect self and others from aggressive patients or other incidents. Able to restrain patients by individual or team restraint per facility policy. Able to frequently lift, carry, and lower 50 pounds without assistance. Able to kneel, stoop, bend, and pull various weights or items (up to 50 pounds). Able to push patients in wheelchairs up and down hills, pursue running patients, and traverse hospital grounds. Able to transfer patients to and from wheelchairs. Able to visually observe to convey patient behavior verbally or in writing. Able to write legibly and grammatically so as to convey patient behavior and information in the patient’s medical record. Able to read medical records and other reports.
