Job Highlights
As a respiratory therapist (RT) at UAB Medicine, you'll work alongside some of the brightest minds in medicine as you deliver the latest evidence-based treatments, including high-frequency ventilation (HFV) and nitric oxide therapy. In this neonatal environment, you'll be treating some of the sickest babies in our region. Our RTs go beyond simply monitoring ventilators and administering breathing treatments. As a member of our team, you'll autonomously manage ventilator protocols, using your skills to meet patient needs while weaning them off of mechanical respiratory support. Ideal candidates have at least two years of neonatal respiratory therapy experience.
UAB Medicine’s Level IV Regional Newborn ICU (RNICU) is the largest unit in the hospital and provides the highest and most comprehensive level of care to the tiniest and sickest babies in the region. UAB Women & Infants Services provides compassionate, comprehensive care for mothers and babies in our state-of-the-art Women & Infants Center, which is recognized as a Baby-Friendly birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA. In addition to being a Women’s Choice Award Best Hospital, UAB is consistently ranked among the nation’s best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, which in 2023 recognized our OB/GYN specialty as the No. 13 best of its kind in the country.
