We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Engineer / Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and operation of a commercial building. This role is hands‑on and requires a strong working knowledge of general building systems, excellent time management, and the ability to interact professionally with tenants and property management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a wide range of light maintenance and repair tasks while maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Responsibilities
Drywall repair and patching
Interior and exterior painting
Basic plumbing repairs (leaks, fixtures, valves, clogs)
Lighting maintenance, including ballast and lamp replacements
Light electrical work (switches, outlets, fixtures – no high‑voltage work)
Monitor HVAC systems: check thermostats, replace air filters, identify mechanical or performance issues
Conduct routine building inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
Respond to tenant service requests in a timely, professional manner
Interface effectively with tenants, vendors, and property management
Maintain organized work orders, logs, and maintenance records
Ensure compliance with safety standards and building policies
Assist with special projects, vendor coordination, and preventative maintenance as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities engineering
Strong working knowledge of general maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, HVAC basics)
Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs with minimal supervision
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Basic computer or mobile app skills for work orders and reporting
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders, work overhead, and access mechanical spaces
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
