Electrical Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities
The Electrical Project Manager coordinates and directs a project team's electrical engineering, design, procurement, and construction efforts to meet a customer's project objectives in accordance with the terms defined in the contract applicable to the work. The manager provides, endorses, and enforces the applicable project principles, practices, and guidelines to ensure efficient and safe use and allocation of the team's and the firm's resources. The manager exercises judgment and experience when applying these principles to ensure that enough alternatives are considered by the team and that the optimal solution(s) are achieved within schedule and budget constraints. The manager works with team members and management to identify project execution weaknesses and strengthens those areas with process and personnel improvements. The manager must have a consistent bias for action for project performance and resolute decision making. The manager may have multiple simultaneous projects and client assignments.

Project Responsibilities
The Electrical Project Manager (CPM) is a leadership role within ITAC's construction divisions. The CPM role requires expertise in the specific trade, supervision of construction work and crews, and administration of numerous aspects of construction projects. The CPM communicates with ITAC's customers, adheres to safety practices and requirements on every jobsite, and follows ITAC policies and procedures for contracting and managing construction projects.

In summary, CPMs develop work scopes, cost estimates, and proposals; develop execution plans; and coordinate and direct field supervision to safely execute the work consistent with the scope and terms of an assigned construction contract. CPMs are responsible for meeting commitments and performance targets relating to safety goals, financial goals, schedule objectives, quality expectations, and client satisfaction.

Specific responsibilities include

Evaluate RFQs (requests for quotation, requests for bid) to determine fit for ITAC; visit jobsites in preparation for bidding; note risks, clarifications, exceptions, etc.; prepare material take-offs; develop cost estimates; evaluate risks.

Draft proposal letters, work scopes, schedules, and other key information needed to offer a bid.

Identify all work that can be fabricated in-house.

Develop execution plans and schedules applying ITAC APM (Assured Project Management) methods.

Work with engineering, other trades, and other construction management resources to coordinate EPC/CM and design-build projects.

Host kick‑off meetings with customer and ITAC team; establish project safety plans and expectations; establish roles, responsibilities, and communication plans.

Provide to field supervisors, subcontractors, safety personnel, site administration and quality control personnel:

All applicable project technical information (typically drawings, diagrams, and specifications).

Update schedules and maintain cost control of the project.

Daily/weekly direction to ITAC supervisors for the efficient use and allocation of labor, materials, equipment, and tools.

Create "Raving Fans" and generate repeat business opportunities.

Requirements

3+ years of electrical construction project management experience.

Multidiscipline project management experience preferred.

OSHA 30 certification, preferred.

Check‑out, commissioning, startup experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Familiar with scheduling tools/techniques (MS Project and/or Primavera).

Procore experience, preferred.
