
Construction Operations Specialist

Role
Responsible for reviewing and approving contractor applications, maintaining contractors in BUILT, inputting loans and budgets in construction management software, and managing construction loan projects, including draws and inspections within the construction management software.
Responsibilities
Review contractor applications, including verifying references, obtaining a credit report, setting up in construction software, and approving the application.
Input and set up budgets for each originated construction project.
Manage draws and inspections for the life of the construction loan.
Book Encompass Loans into BUILT.
Coordinate with Mortgage Servicing for documents required for permanent financing.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
Ensure all activities in the department are carried out in compliance with all Federal, State, and credit union regulations within the prescribed timeframes.
Develop and maintain knowledge of all mortgage products and rates within the credit union and from the mortgage industry.
Ensure adherence to standard business policies.
Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to branch and department staff.
Maintain exception reports and tracking systems to accurately identify, correct, and report selected defects, defect rates, and trends.
Qualifications
Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two‑year college degree, (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job‑specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Extensive personal contact with others, ability to motivate, influence, and train colleagues, foster relationships with external entities, and influence or sell ideas or services.
Other Skills: Experience with BUILT or another Construction Management software required. Encompass experience preferred. Proficient in PC and mortgage software system to input applicant information and create closing documents. Excellent communication, organizational skills, capacity to work accurately and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements: Light lifting required.
