What to Expect
The NPI Technician i is primarily responsible for ensuring the successful launch of the newest Energy products and sub-components, turning new engineering design to mass production.
What You'll Do
The NPI Engineering Technician will be responsible for preparing materials and tools for performing NPI builds, trialing new materials and maintaining the various NPI core functions to a high standard.
Document and verbally provide constructive feedback, define/iterate/document standard work, and suggest process improvements.
Execute efficiently against provided instructions, self-validate work for accuracy, check the quality of previous operations, and meet critical deadlines.
Support field investigations, instrumented
on-Plan of Record builds, and unique projects in support of our cross‑functional teams.
Hands‑on product build validation, collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure factory and line readiness as well as ensuring critical timelines are met through effective execution of key milestones.
Support Operations and Projects on the production line as necessary.
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 4 years' experience in assembly of electro‑mechanical components.
Ability to navigate NEC guidelines and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices and CPR & Low Voltage Rescue SCADA experience is a plus.
Previous electrical trades experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters and multimeters.
Skilled in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Hands‑on experience with interpreting instrumentation maps and installing thermocouples, accelerometers, voltage sense leads/current sensors, strain gauges, and related data acquisition tools.
Must have a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, while working in an environment that requires quick action; communicates test results, ideas, and problems to supervisor and engineers; able to be part of the solution.
Typically involves a variety of operations (including troubleshooting and rework) requiring a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product.
Essential Physical Demands
Able to perform physical work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours per day.
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain.
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs.
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts.
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day.
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures.
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guides.
