
Maintenance Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems.
Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition.
Assists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines.
Complete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision.
Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed.
Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation.
Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery.
Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility.
Always complies with company policies and procedures.
Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day.
Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.
Needs experience reading electric diagrams.
Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3 years of experience is required.
Punctuality and reliability is a must.
Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
Ability to solve problems independently.
High School diploma/GED equivalent required.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
2ndt Class B Boilers Operator License preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Continual standing and walking during shift.
Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.
Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.
Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
SCHEDULE
8- hour shift
Must be able to work 10:00 AM TO 6:30 PM
Must be able to work OT and weekends as needed
