Summary
The communications generalist intern position is being offered May 2026 through August 2026 and is flexible based on the individual's needs. The intern should be prepared to work 20-25 hours per week during the duration of the internship.
The Communications Generalist Intern position will offer broad insights into the role of corporate communications including employee communications, public relations, media relations, social media, national campaigns, website, national marketing positioning and analysis of metrics that measure engagement and impact. The Intern will be integrated as a member of the communications team to experience the high degree of cross collaboration between disciplines. The intern will have the opportunity to produce published assets that will help to build a professional portfolio.
This role will report to a Communications Manager who oversees various disciplines within the integrated marketing communications team. The intern will see first‑hand how content is leveraged and audienceed across internal and external channels. The intern will also have opportunities to work with other communications team members with focused projects.
The intern will be supplied with a laptop and must also be available for scheduled conference calls, applicable training and checkpoint meetings.
This is a great opportunity for college students or recent graduates who want a resume‑building internship. This internship offers theory and strategy concepts on all aspects of communications, analyzing and presenting metrics, and brand and market insights.
Essential Functions
Contribute to the creation of internal and external communication assets which may include concepting, copywriting, briefings, idea presentation and publication
Engage with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure campaign objectives and key messaging goals are met
Coordinate and provide communications plans for specific campaigns
Measure campaign effectiveness across all channels and audiences and provide results analysis
Education, Experience and Knowledge
A currently enrolled college student or recent graduate
Previous writing experience for a broad variety of audiences
A quick learner who is proactive and a self‑driver
Basic computer skills are essential
