Description
Supervisor – Manufacturing (Shift). A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a self-directed, results-oriented Area Supervisor to lead second-shift production operations. This role is responsible for supervising manufacturing employees, coordinating production schedules and materials, maintaining quality and safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Area Supervisor works closely with engineering, quality, sales, and vendors to ensure products are built and delivered on time and meet customer expectations.
Shift:
Monday–Thursday, 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support manufacturing associates; interview and hire as needed
Plan and manage production schedules, inventory, and departmental workloads
Coordinate with engineering on product changes, deviations, and corrections
Ensure adherence to ISO quality systems, inspection documentation, and work instructions
Resolve production, quality, and customer product issues
Maintain compliance with all safety regulations; conduct monthly safety inspections
Act as a working supervisor when required
Drive continuous improvement through Lean, 5S, and process optimization initiatives
Promote cross-training to build workforce flexibility and efficiency
Utilize ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office tools to support operations
Required Qualifications
Manufacturing supervision experience
Experience in an ISO-certified quality environment
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
Experience with production and inventory scheduling
Ability to create and maintain written procedures and work instructions
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field
SAP experience
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
