Work Schedule/Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm CST (with potential for occasional overtime and/or weekend work)

Compensation: $58.50 to $63.33 per hour

Overview
Our client is a leading provider of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, partnering with public sector, institutional, and commercial organizations to deliver large-scale infrastructure and sustainability projects. This role will support the execution of solar and energy-related construction projects, with a focus on onsite management, coordination, and delivery. The Construction Manager will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Provide daily onsite construction, administrative, and technical management of solar and energy infrastructure projects.

Maintain detailed daily logs documenting labor, equipment, materials, weather conditions, and safety activities.

Support the Senior Project Manager with budgeting, scheduling, project tracking, reporting, and internal communications.

Interface directly with clients to manage relationships, expectations, and contractual obligations.

Assist in project design and development, including scope definition, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, and scheduling.

Monitor project performance and cost estimates to ensure alignment with budgets and forecast accuracy through completion.

Review subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure scope alignment, schedule feasibility, and timely delivery of materials and services.

Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality control and successful project delivery.

Maintain and update project schedules, track critical path activities, and manage outstanding action items.

Oversee scheduling, delivery, and inventory of owner-supplied materials.

Support project cost tracking, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, and monthly forecasting.

Conduct site audits and participate in safety meetings to ensure adherence to safety plans and regulations.

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and revenue recognition guidelines.

Serve as a liaison between field operations and business office functions.

Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

5+ years of construction management/superintendent experience within solar, energy, electrical, civil, or related infrastructure projects.

Experience managing complex construction projects including installations, retrofits, or upgrades.

Proficiency with construction management software (Procore) and daily logging tools.

Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.

Ability to work onsite in a secured construction environment with limited site access flexibility.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Solar project experience strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or technical training in engineering, construction management, or a related field.

10+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience with energy efficiency systems such as controls, VFDs, lighting retrofits, or central plant systems.

Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction compliance requirements.

Experience working with public sector or institutional projects.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Project.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.
