Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer executes projects from kickoff through design, manufacturing support, assembly, and factory testing, focusing on mechanical design and control system integration for refinery valve applications. This role collaborates cross-functionally to develop detailed designs and documentation, support fabrication and testing, and ensure safety, quality, schedule, and customer requirements are met.
Responsibilities

Review project specifications, including customer requirements and applicable industry standards.
Collaborate with drafters to produce accurate and complete project drawings.
Prepare engineering documents and technical data to support customer review and understanding.
Select appropriate instrumentation and mechanical components for refinery valve control systems.
Create, review, and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) to support procurement and manufacturing.
Develop and review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures to verify system performance and compliance.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and delivery of purchased components.
Conduct site visits to subcontract fabricators to verify compliance with project requirements and design intent.
Provide technical and engineering support for manufacturing.
Investigate, evaluate, and develop new applications for existing equipment and systems.
Effectively communicate complex engineering ideas and principles to non-technical stakeholders for decision making.
Provide technical leadership in customer meetings as a subject matter expert on design and processes.
Provide direction to support field service team.
Provide day-to-day internal and customer operational support.
Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Creo (Pro/ENGINEER), or other comparable 3D modeling and drafting software.
Strong knowledge of fluid power systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application in mechanical design and manufacturing.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with oil & gas industry instrumentation and control systems is highly preferred.
Familiarity with refinery valve applications and industry standards is a plus.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience in system or equipment design.
