We are actively seeking a Project Engineer for immediate openings in our Chicagoland office, headquartered in Elgin, IL. This role focuses on Heavy Construction (bridge work/infrastructure/plant & process) or Building Construction (school and municipal markets) and is based either at our Elgin corporate office or a project site in NE Illinois.
Ideal candidate
Has a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field of study, or has qualifying experience.
Is willing to work in both a field and office setting.
Is computer literate and willing to work with multiple project management, estimating, and scheduling software systems.
Is an ambitious individual with the desire to advance within the Company.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager and Site Superintendent.
Submittal Review and Processing.
Request for Information Processing.
Requesting Change Order Information from Subcontractors.
Drawing Documentation.
Processing Meeting Minutes.
Pre-Construction Preparation of Scopes.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills.
Well organized with an acute attention to detail.
Can easily adapt to fluctuations in workload as needed.
Good listening skills and acts in a professional manner.
Eager to learn and responsive to direction and feedback from supervisor.
Team player with a positive attitude and desire to promote a productive work environment.
Proficient in PM software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, HCSS HeavyJob, Viewpoint Vista, P6, AutoCAD, and various client specific websites and portals.
Lives in the Chicagoland area.
