
Emergency Room Technician - Part Time Nights

Position Summary
As an integral part of the patient care team, the Emergency Room Technician performs direct and indirect patient care functions under the supervision of appropriately licensed personnel. The Technician assists patients with personal care needs, participates in the plan of care, collects test specimens, documents patient care activities, performs phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, and other duties as required within the Emergency Room. The Associate assists customers in a friendly, prompt, caring manner, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect, supporting team objectives, and assisting other team members when necessary.
Qualifications
Education: High School degree or equivalent; ability to read, speak, and write English. EMT or Certified Nurse Assistant program preferred.
Licenses & Certification: BLSHCP required. Successful completion of phlebotomy course and/or certification preferred. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required within one year of hire or until 10/31/25 for existing employees.
Experience: Minimum 1 year direct patient care experience; knowledge of medical terminology; interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with team members; ability to be flexible, set priorities, solve problems, and use proper judgment.
Preferences: Proficiency in Clinical Applications at time of hire preferred; incumbents will be trained and required to apply within 30‑60 days of hire.
Physical Requirements: Reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching approximately 25% of workday; standing, walking and lifting 50‑100 pounds frequently with assistance; ability to push, pull or transport equipment and patients.
Performance Expectations
Demonstrates the ability to perform department‑specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work Environment
Potential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, blood‑borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Clinical Manager.
