This PRN Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position assists with filling in periodic scheduling gaps due to high patient volumes or employee leaves.
Available hours are typically between 8AM-6PM, with occasional slight variations to meet unique scheduling needs.
Environment: Post-Acute Care
Location: Ankeny, Iowa
On rare occasions you may have the opportunity to travel to other On With Life clinic locations.
What do Occupational Therapists (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) do?
The OT or COTA provides professional occupational therapy services to persons with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological conditions. As a member of the transdisciplinary team, the OTR or COTA reviews and informs the rehabilitation plans of persons served. They provide direct treatment in the areas of:
independent living/daily living skills
sensory motor
cognitive and psychosocial skills
personal-social development
There is great joy in watching someone do something for the first time after their injury. You’ll have the opportunity to watch people take their first steps, say their first words, or even enjoy their first snack or favorite meal. You can be a large part of the journey that each person served takes, making memories with them along the way. We are a not-for-profit organization founded by survivors and their families, and each person served is a new member of that family. We are looking for extraordinary individuals like you to join us!

Has some personal or professional experience with individuals with disabilities or special needs
Is comfortable working with computers and electronic records
Has experience with areas of independent living/daily living skills, sensory motor, cognitive and psychosocial skills
Is an excellent educator and passionate about providing encouragement
Qualified applicants must have:
An Iowa Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
Ability to maintain CPR certification
