Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician specializing in startup and commissioning to join our team in Ashburn, VA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in system integration, troubleshooting, and performance validation of advanced control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform startup, commissioning, and functional testing of BAS installations
Configure, program, and troubleshoot building automation systems to ensure optimal performance
Interpret control drawings, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery
Identify and resolve system issues during commissioning phases
Conduct system diagnostics, calibration, and performance verification
Provide documentation and reports related to commissioning activities
Support handoff to clients, including training and system demonstration
Required Qualifications
Minimum
5+ years of experience
in BAS startup and commissioning roles
Proven experience working with
Distech Controls product lines
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and integration
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
Experience with networked control systems (BACnet, IP-based systems)
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
