Main Responsibilities
Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
Performing preventive maintenance repairs—such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating and replacing components, performing some electrical system repairs, and maintaining cooling systems on gas and diesel engine vehicles
Partnering with a manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and coaching
Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Team player capable of working well with others
Basic computer skills
Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
Ability to perform all work in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper use of tools, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices
Regular full attendance is essential
Position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles and compliance with DOT regulations, including a current driver qualification file, annual MVR checks, completion of DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records, and for CDL holders a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review
Willingness to work the required schedule, location, complete employment application, background screening, drug and physical tests, and potential regional travel for training
Physical Requirements
Regular movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods during scheduled work.
Frequent hand use to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate required tools or controls.
Ability to work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
Capacity to work in all weather conditions.
Need to see and hear safely to navigate workplace with frequent movement of large trucks.
Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg), and pull/push truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
