Job Description
AECOM
is actively seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Inspector to support the US Army Corps of Engineers at Ft. Gordon, GA. This is an onsite, full-time position
Responsibilities
Perform field inspection and quality assurance.
Perform daily site walks to inspect electrical installations (power, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, telecom, security, generators, medium voltage, etc.).
Performed 3-phase inspections for electrical/telecommunications distribution infrastructure and fire alarm/MNS.
Document deficiencies and track corrective actions.
Confirm proper installation methods, conduit routing, cable sizing, panel labeling, bonding, and equipment placement.
Update daily reports, inspections, and QA observations in RMS.
Verify contractor compliance with USACE EM 385-1-1 safety requirements.
Participate in weekly progress meetings.
Interface with 3rd party commissioning agent to facilitate commissioning process and validate results.
Utilize the Resident Management System to write daily reports, track/respond to RFIs and provide solutions.
Attend preparatory meetings, provide submittal reviews, RFI reviews, claim & estimate reviews, and attend briefings.
Qualifications
HS + 10 Years of relevant experience in construction practices, engineering, procedures, and testing, and large vertical DoD construction projects.
3 years commissioning experience.
Due to the nature of the project US citizenship is required.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Up to 50% of the time the position needs to move about indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable environmental conditions including heat, dust, noise, moisture, and dryness.
Occasionally (10-25% of workday) performing repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, working at heights, and lifting and carrying equipment weighing less than 25 pounds.
At times the position requires working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds.
The position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Level II electrical QC inspector.
USACE experience
EM 385-1-1 training
OSHA 30-hour
National Electrical Code familiarity
Commissioning or Low Voltage Certification
Knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing and building control systems
Experience using RMS
Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification (CQM-C)
