Media Tech-3rd Shift

Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to prepare Vitek susceptibility and identification media and/or sub components, dispense system setup and verifications, and ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality product to Card production. The role also includes preparing Clean‑In‑Place solutions, staying current on training and curriculum procedures, maintaining workstation organization and cleaning, establishing a safe work environment, and performing housekeeping and maintenance functions in the production department.

Primary Duties

Perform all work in the Production Department safely in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Document complex manufacturing steps and verifications as outlined in company procedures for media preparation, filtration, labeling, and storage.

Ensure media and sub‑components are prepared accurately and on schedule to meet production deadlines.

Verify filter functionality and ensure proper labeling, manufacturing, and storage of media per regulatory and Master Formulary specifications.

Operate equipment (steam kettles, etc.) and perform Clean‑In‑Place (CIP) operations.

Set up media dispensing with speed and accuracy, including pump volume adjustments, dispense head placement, connection verification, and bag numbering.

Review end‑of‑lot documentation for Device History Record and Master Formulary, following all required policies.

Log scheduling or availability issues with MES to management or scheduling staff, staying flexible to day‑to‑day changes.

Inspect and calibrate equipment before use, ensuring all machinery is operational. Report any needed repairs immediately to avoid production delays. Perform startup and shutdown procedures as described in company policy.

Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and inform the designated purchasing resource when additional items are required.

Apply FEFO principles to long‑term stocks, broths, and chemical components.

Participate in new product development and assist with transition of new products from R&D and Industrialization to production.

Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, which are essential for this role.

Comply with all company quality procedures and standards.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

At least 2 years of wet chemistry and/or bench work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.

Knowledge of sterile techniques and general laboratory procedures.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods, either sitting or standing.

Ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar structures.

Wear PPE correctly throughout most of the shift.

Operate heavy machinery as required.

Move or lift objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

Handle antibiotics and hazardous materials, and may be exposed to related odors.

Possible extended and/or overtime hours.

Compensation and Benefits
The pay for this role in Missouri is $23.00 per hour. The role is eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance as outlined in bioMérieux’s bonus program. Actual compensation within the specified range will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
