Shifts
Flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays
3rd‑Shift schedule: 8‑hour shift 10:00 pm–6:30 am
Initial training on 1st shift (≈4 weeks); thereafter assigned to appropriate shift and eligible to bid on other schedules
Regular 8‑hour shifts; mandatory overtime may occur weekly, daily, or on weekends

Summary
The Controls Electrician assists maintenance and production personnel by troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting equipment to minimize downtime.
Interpret machine manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
Apply concepts of electricity, electronics, and control systems
Understand National Electrical Code and NFPA 70‑E
Perform PLC and control system troubleshooting and repair
Diagnose and replace malfunctioning components (transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, PLCs, drives, etc.)
Troubleshoot ControlNET, DeviceNET, DH+, Remote IO, and Ethernet networks
Basic knowledge of plant, fire, and water sprinkler controls
Maintain area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper manner
Operate material handling equipment as required
Complete all mandatory training
Required Background Skills and Minimum Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Flexible to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Authorized to work in the United States
Journeyman’s card from a state‑approved apprenticeship program or minimum three years of hands‑on electrical work in manufacturing systems maintenance or equivalent military experience
Basic computer skills (PCs)
Experience in industrial electrical systems, PLCs, process controls, and instrumentation
Experience with motors and controls (AC and DC), analog and digital devices, schematics, and electrical print reading
Demonstrated ability to use current probe, multimeter, oscilloscope
Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams; systematically troubleshoot detailed electrical and electronic systems; work with voltage up to 480 V; troubleshoot programmable controllers; understand analog circuits (e.g., 4‑20 mA or 0‑10 V)
Preferred Qualifications
Food manufacturing experience
Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices experience
Continuous Improvement methodology experience
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) experience
Autonomous Maintenance (AM) experience
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Regular tasks involve working around operating equipment, confined spaces, standing, reaching, stooping, crawling, walking, climbing ladders, and bending
Working Conditions
Manufacturing facility environment
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bumpers, hair and beard nets, gloves
Company‑issued arc‑flash rated uniforms required for designated electrical tasks
