Job Summary
The Ocular Surgery Account Manager (OSAM) is responsible for growing business with Harrow‑approved products, focusing on expanding sales within a defined geographic region. Reporting to the National Sales Director, Ocular Surgery, the role requires a highly motivated self‑starter with strong business acumen, an ability to solve challenges, and a positive presence with internal and external customers. The OSAM will meet assigned monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue and product objectives through value‑based communication with ophthalmologists, surgery centers, and staff.
Core Responsibilities
Takes 100% ownership, with an entrepreneurial mindset, to meet or exceed quarterly sales revenue and product goals
Effectively communicates complex clinical information to ophthalmic surgeons, billers, and administration in both the surgeon’s office and ASC
Understands complex care systems and assesses local dynamics to inform area business growth plans
Has solid knowledge of reimbursement concepts related to buy‑and‑bill
Develops critical physician and ASC staff relationships within the assigned geography
Utilizes all internal resources when developing quarterly action plans or handling problem accounts
Provides weekly new business forecasts and updates
Records all sales activity accurately in CRM
Maintains an in‑depth, professional level understanding of Harrow surgical peri‑operative products
Collaborates effectively with internal departments and peers
Acts with urgency in all customer interactions and follows up promptly
Travels routinely throughout the assigned geography
Uses the designated CRM system—Salesforce
Follows all industry and company policies and guidelines
Complies with all state and federal legislation and regulatory requirements
Manages expenses responsibly and ethically
Resourceful thinker who finds available resources to win and prosper
Serves as the liaison for customer complaints or issues with continuous follow‑up
Submits all required reports, including monthly expense reports, on time
Is proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
3+ years of successful ophthalmology sales experience with buy‑and‑bill or ophthalmic medical device sales experience preferred
Ability to build, develop, and foster longstanding relationships with customers
Quickly absorbs product and practice information and offers resonant solutions
Experience executing strategic and targeted business plans around priorities and goals
Proficient with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of physician decision‑making regarding patient care for various therapies
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Solid independent judgment and initiative
Superior communication and written skills
Ability to multitask and adjust priorities as needed
Good problem‑solving and analytical skills
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM
