Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area for a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Land Development. The individual will oversee and execute civil engineering projects, including designing site plans, stormwater drainage systems, and coordinating land development efforts. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing workflows, preparing engineering plans, collaborating with clients and teams to ensure compliance with local regulations, and providing oversight throughout project lifecycles to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Lead civil engineering design for land development and site development projects, including higher education and institutional campuses

Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR), responsible for signing and sealing plans

Apply independent judgment to solve complex engineering problems

Oversee site development design, including grading, drainage, and utility systems

Perform and review hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses

Prepare and review engineering reports, calculations, and construction documents

Ensure QA/QC of all deliverables

Manage project scope, schedule, and coordination with internal teams

Support project budgeting and ensure work is delivered efficiently and profitably

May serve as project manager on select projects, with responsibility for delivery performance

Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies

Ensure compliance with TxDOT, TCEQ, and local standards

Support permitting efforts and respond to agency comments

Direct and oversee technical staff on assigned projects

Mentor junior engineers and review their work

Identify and communicate risks related to scope, schedule, and quality
