Join a safety\u2011focused maintenance team supporting reliable plant operations through hands\u2011on mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and project work. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting production needs, and ensuring equipment performance across the facility.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
* This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment and facilities.
* This role involves supervising maintenance technicians, developing and enforcing preventive maintenance schedules, and organizing repair work to resolve issues promptly.
* Additionally, the Maintenance Lead ensures compliance with safety standards, manages inventory of supplies and equipment, and collaborates with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
* Strong leadership skills, practical maintenance experience, and problem-solving abilities are essential to keep the facility in excellent condition for both employees and production processes.
What you need to succeed:
* 7-10 years\u2019 experience as industrial maintenance electrician and electronic technician in folding carton
* Lock Out/Tag Out and/or NFPA 70E certified
* Knowledge of software including relevant application such as Microsoft office
* Able to determine root causes of operating errors and repair facilities equipment or systems using necessary tools.
* Knowledge and proficient in JDE
* Knowledge and proficient in all 3 tiers.
* Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and ability to diagnose and solve problems
* Experience maintaining PM schedules
* Have a strong emphasis on safety and exhibit good safety practices
* Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision
* Must be able to resolve breakdown issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
* Must be able to maintain timelines for project schedules
* Willingness to work varied schedule when needed such as 12-hour days (all shifts), overtime, and weekends
* Report to Maintenance Manager on a regular basis on conditions relative to general operations, safety and day to day activities in the facility.
* Assists with ensuring all repair and maintenance documentation conforms to Company procedures
* Offer suggestions for performance evaluation; oversee the duties of designated crew members.
* Installs electrical wiring and equipment; and replaces and repairs wiring as needed.
* Able to work with upper management regarding plant issues
* Ability to train and/or lead assigned employees in their areas of work including correct maintenance methods, procedures, and techniques conforming to WestRock policies.
* Supervise the use, care and operation of maintenance tools and equipment; train and instruct employees in the safe operation of maintenance tools and equipment.
* Verify the work assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specification; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
* All other duties as assigned.
