
Retail Color Mixer

Color Mixer Specialists tint and mix paint to customer specifications, working closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer product questions, and recommend solutions. They must stay up-to-date with product features, maintain high quality and visual standards, provide excellent customer service, and consistently meet the store’s sales goals. Color Mixer Specialists may handle customers of all ages, manage cash and other payment methods, and access store merchandise and equipment under supervision or unsupervised. A review of criminal history is required to protect the business and its operations.

Type: Part‑time.
Starting Pay: $16.68/hr or based on relevant experience.
Store hours may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
Prepare customers' paint orders quickly and accurately.
Tint and mix products to customer specifications.
Prepare drawdowns for submittal to customers.
Clean, fill, and repair equipment as needed.
Maintain precise work order files and formulas.
Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse.
Stock shelves and set up displays.
Clean store equipment.
Load and unload delivery trucks.
Assist in making deliveries, as needed.
Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
Process sales transactions accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Maintain in‑stock and presentable condition of assigned areas.
Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
Comply with inventory control procedures.
Suggest ways to improve sales.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for future employment.
Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
If internally to Sherwin‑Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
If internally to Sherwin‑Williams, must have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses for the current position.
Preferred Qualifications
Have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
Have at least a high school diploma or GED.
Have at least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
Have previous work experience selling paint and paint‑related products.
Have previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
