**Job Title: General Warehouse Associate**
**Job Description**
This role is a general warehouse position within a large industrial steel operation. You will start on first shift for 3-4 weeks of hands-on training before transitioning to second shift. During training, you will learn to safely operate an overhead crane and forklift, accurately use a tape measure, and follow the company's established operating rhythm to support efficient warehouse operations.
**Responsibilities**
+ Train on first shift for 3-4 weeks to learn warehouse processes, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
+ Operate an overhead crane to move, lift, and position steel and other heavy materials safely and efficiently after training.
+ Operate a forklift to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse in accordance with safety guidelines.
+ Use a tape measure accurately to verify material dimensions and ensure orders meet required specifications.
+ Perform general labor tasks such as organizing materials, staging orders, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
+ Follow established operating rhythms, standard work procedures, and production schedules to support smooth daily operations.
+ Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including proper use of equipment and personal protective gear.
+ Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to complete tasks and meet operational goals.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to learn and safely operate a forklift after training.
+ Ability to learn and safely operate an overhead crane after training.
+ Proficiency using a tape measure to take accurate measurements.
+ Capability to perform general labor in an industrial warehouse environment, including lifting and moving materials.
+ Willingness to train on first shift for 3-4 weeks before moving to second shift.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety procedures.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Previous experience operating a forklift is beneficial.
+ Previous experience operating an overhead crane is an advantage.
+ Experience using a tape measure in an industrial, construction, or warehouse setting is helpful.
+ Experience in general labor, warehousing, or industrial environments is preferred.
+ Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
