Piper Companies is seeking a
Voice Systems Engineer
for a contract opportunity supporting a leading organization in Illinois. This position is on-site, with trips to different sites as needed and involves hands-on work with Nortel and Avaya systems to ensure reliable voice network operations. Candidates not local can discuss travel options.
Responsibilities
Maintain and support Nortel CS1000 systems, including code-level programming and troubleshooting.
Configure and manage Terminal Number Blocks (TNBs) within Nortel environments.
Administer and troubleshoot Directory Service Configuration (DSC) in Nortel systems.
Design and manage routing within Avaya Session Manager.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless voice network operations.
Document configurations, changes, and procedures for internal knowledge sharing.
Provide technical guidance and support for upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience designing and managing routing within Avaya Session Manager.
In-depth expertise in Nortel CS1000 system programming, configuration, and administration.
Strong working knowledge of Terminal Number Blocks (TNBs) and Directory Service Configuration (DSC) in Nortel environments.
Solid grasp of voice network architecture, including protocols such as SIP, H.323, and VoIP fundamentals.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex voice network issues and communicate solutions effectively across teams.
