
LOADER OPERATOR

Role Overview
This position is responsible for safely and properly operating and maintaining a loader used to feed conveyors, hoppers or load trucks. Workers must display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.
Typical schedule during the production season is Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM with one Saturday per month. During the maintenance season the schedule is Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily equipment, walk‑around and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on the loader, maintaining three points of contact at all times.
Safely and properly operate the loader, ensuring bucket/attachments are lowered to ground whenever leaving the equipment.
Load trucks with a driver in sight to communicate and ensure a safe loading procedure.
Load trucks up to the legal hauling weight limit.
Identify appropriate material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications, communicating with other personnel and making required adjustments to material blends.
Maintain smooth, level haul roads.
Maintain contaminant‑free aggregate piles.
Inspect material – check gradation quality, oversize rocks, contaminants.
Keep pit floor smooth and haul roads maintained.
May keep concrete plant fed for maximum production.
Check for spillage on the plant floor and clean up daily (assist with shoveling spillage).
Check for worn‑out flashing on the plant that could lead to spillage.
May maintain leftover concrete that is dumped out at the plant.
Always work safely and take action to prevent unsafe actions, processes and behaviors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with equipment operation and maintenance.
Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and an acceptable driving record.
Compensation
$28.00 – $33.00 per hour depending on experience.
