**Overview**
The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment at Auburn University is seeking a qualified individual for a position as a postdoctoral Fellow in the field of developing new products using forest resources. The primary task of this position is to help build a bioeconomy research platform focused on utilizing lignin and its derivatives for construction and composite manufacturing applications.

**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct research on lignin and forest‑based materials for new product development.
+ Develop and test bio‑based composites, resins, and construction materials.
+ Generate new research ideas and contribute to building a bioeconomy research platform.
+ Write competitive research proposals to secure external funding.
+ Publish high‑impact research articles and present findings at conferences.
+ Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and mentor students as needed.
**Qualifications**
+ PhD. or equivalent degree in wood science, forest products, sustainable bioproducts, or a closely related field at the time the position begins.
+ Knowledge of forest products and byproducts
+ Experience working with biochar for heavy metal removal in water
+ Experience working with lignin for graphene manufacturing
+ Experience working with graphene and its application in cement composites
+ Familiarity with composite manufacturing and characterization
+ Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
+ The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment (no sponsorship).
