Purpose Of the Role:
As a Warehouse Operative within our contract logistics team, you will be responsible for handling freight efficiently and safely to meet customer requirements. Your role will involve a variety of warehouse duties including picking, packing, loading, and unloading, while adhering to company procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Correct handling and movement of goods within the warehouse
Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
Picking and packing orders accurately according to customer specifications
Operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts or pallet trucks safely and correctly
Reporting any damaged or incorrect stock following established procedures
Following Health and Safety policies including all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
Using IT equipment daily (scanners, computers) to track and manage inventory
Completing all required documentation accurately and timely
Meeting operational deadlines and productivity targets
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience working in a warehouse environment, handling heavy and/or high-value goods
Strong team player with good communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and use own initiative
Computer literate with experience using warehouse management systems or similar
Certified or willing to be trained in manual handling and MHE operation
Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Minimum of 2 years’ experience on reach truck (D2 license)
