**The Role**
The Senior Lead Compensation Consultant delivers strategic compensation advice and guidance to our HR partners, stakeholders, and business leaders. This role involves defining role scopes, assessing job responsibilities, and recommending pay decisions that reflect Lumen's compensation philosophy, job structure, and market competitiveness. Senior Lead Compensation Consultants transform compensation frameworks into actionable decisions, ensuring pay practices remain consistent, competitive, and compliant with governance standards.

**The Main Responsibilities**
**Strategic Compensation Advisory**
+ Collaborate closely with HR partners and business leaders to deliver insightful strategic compensation advice.
+ Guide compensation decisions involving offers, promotions, internal transfers, and retention strategies.
+ Clarify compensation philosophy and policies to facilitate informed and fair pay choices.
**Job Scoping, Titling & Evaluation**
+ Work alongside leaders and HR partners to define roles clearly and assign accurate job titles and levels.
+ Perform job evaluations based on the organization's job architecture and leveling framework.
+ Verify that roles correspond with designated job families and career pathways.
**Market Pricing & Pay Recommendations**
+ Analyze market benchmarks and interpret survey data to evaluate pay competitiveness.
+ Formulate pay recommendations that balance market trends, internal fairness, and compensation policies.
**Compensation Planning Support**
+ Assist compensation planning cycles by advising HR partners and leaders on pay strategies and guidelines.
+ Offer expertise on complex compensation scenarios and decision-making.
**Governance & Risk Awareness**
+ Ensure all compensation decisions comply with governance standards and uphold pay equity.
+ Promptly escalate complex or high-risk compensation issues when necessary
**What We Look For in a Candidate**
+ Typically, with 8+ years of progressive HR experience with 5+ in compensation administration or consulting.
+ Strong consulting and stakeholder partnership skills
+ Analytical mindset with ability to interpret compensation data
+ Ability to translate compensation frameworks into practical guidance
+ Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities
+ Growth mindset paired with curiosity and the ability to challenge conventional thinking and bring bold, creative and forward-looking ideas
**Compensation**
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$111,074 - $148,099 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$116,364 - $155,152 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
