Mechanical Engineer
to support the design and integration of custom industrial and laser‑based automation systems. This role offers hands‑on exposure to automation equipment and close collaboration with controls and electrical engineering teams. This position is well suited for an
entry‑level or early‑career mechanical engineer
looking to grow their skills in automation, system integration, and custom equipment design.
What You’ll Do
Design mechanical components and assemblies for custom automation equipment
Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials using CAD software
Work closely with controls engineers to support integration of mechanical and automation systems
Assist with layout and integration of sensors, actuators, motion components, and safety devices
Support builds, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Help ensure designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
0–2 years of mechanical engineering experience (internships and co‑ops welcome)
CAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)
Strong mechanical design fundamentals
Interest in automation, industrial equipment, or system integration
Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and team‑focused mindset
Good communication skills and willingness to learn
Automation & Controls Exposure (Preferred)
Experience or coursework in automation or mechatronics
Familiarity with PLC‑controlled systems (no programming required)
Understanding of sensors, motion systems, or industrial machinery
Comfort collaborating with electrical and controls engineers
What’s Offered

$60,000–$75,000 , based on experience
