Position Summary
A Telecom Designer/Engineer designs advanced telecommunication system schematics to support projects throughout our six market sectors; prepares design documents and performs engineering calculations in coordination with project teams and multiple disciplines. (Multiple Openings)
Telecom Designer/Engineer Key Responsibilities
Assisting in developing overall telecommunication system schematics to support projects in our Venue Sector
Assisting in the development of overall technology system design, layouts, details, rack elevations and schematics under the direction of a senior designer/engineer
Preparing drawings of system layout, details, rack elevations and signal flow diagrams
Proactively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and understanding of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Products
Producing low voltage system drawings and specifications suitable for bidding by qualified contractors
Performing necessary calculations and be involved in job site visits, construction observations and/or attend client meetings
Working with architects, clients, contractors and project managers to create a successful outcome
Managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Telecom Designer/Engineer Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 1 year of relevant experience OR 4 years of experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
Additional certifications and accreditations aligned with the relevant technical field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD, etc.) preferred.
Basic proficiency in engineering design: basic knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards. Knowledge may be applicable to a limited range of practice, project or program types.
Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels in a clear and concise manner.
Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers.
Ability to receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
