The Global Business Risk and Resilience (BRR) function operates as a first line team, responsible for developing strategy, frameworks, and standards to manage business risk. The team provides risk oversight, defines the scope, and conducts quality assurance reviews in line with established frameworks. BRR sets enhanced risk standards that are fully aligned with the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ensuring robust oversight and driving ongoing improvements in the resilience of the Firm’s operations and its overall risk profile.
The Global BRR Third Party Risk Team is a centralised specialist function responsible for defining global frameworks and risk standards for Third Party Risk Management. The team provides independent first line of defense oversight, ensuring that Global Business and Infrastructure teams effectively manage third party risk across all types of vendors engaged by the Group. This includes direct suppliers, Non-Traditional Third Parties (NTTPs), and Internal Third Parties (ITPs).
Role Overview
As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the ongoing development of the Group’s Third-Party Risk Management Framework, as well as leading its implementation and continuous enhancement. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders within your jurisdiction to promote adherence to the framework, strengthen governance and oversight, and drive ongoing improvements. This critical position ensures the application of robust and consistent risk management practices, directly supporting HSBC’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Support the design, maintenance, and enhancement of the Global TPRM Framework, standards, and methodologies and oversee the embedding of the global framework within your area of responsibility
Partner with Global BRR to ensure local regulatory requirements are catered for in the process and formalise, where appropriate and necessary, any local deviations
Establish and oversee TPRM governance for your area of responsibility, including escalation of key issues for remediation
Monitor TPRM activities to ensure they operate within risk appetite and tolerance
Chair governance forums and prepare executive reporting packs
Collaborate with GBGI and entity to embed TPRM requirements and drive continuous improvement
Oversee independent adherence reviews and testing plans to validate compliance with TPRM frameworks
Qualifications
Extensive experience in third party risk management, operational risk, or related disciplines within the financial services sector
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and established risk management frameworks
Proven ability to lead on matters of governance, operational resilience, and incident management
Excellent skills in managing stakeholders and communicating effectively across all levels
Ability to drive change initiatives and foster continuous improvement within global teams
