The Role
Part‑Time (3rd Shift Monday‑Friday, 4:00 PM to close). The Dispatcher coordinates fulfillment of orders, including the movement of goods and vehicles within the warehouse and to external destinations. This role ensures timely and efficient delivery of products, working closely with the Receiving Department to manage incoming shipments, cooling times, icing procedures, and related documentation. The Dispatcher also collaborates with the Shipping Supervisor to plan and execute daily workloads.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Uphold all food safety standards and immediately report any concerns regarding food safety or quality to the appropriate personnel.
Monitor all email communication and respond promptly while providing the highest levels of customer service.
Monitor “Shippers” for all approved orders from the Sales Department.
Provide support/relief to the Appointment Scheduler in all tasks.
Communicate with Sales to expedite shipments and carry out tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Support the coordination of cross‑dock, load‑only, and return‑to‑grower (RTG) orders, as assigned by Shift Supervisor.
Collaborate with Sales to assess inventory levels and adjust product orders as necessary.
Monitor/verify product availability in “Shippers” of incoming commodities and existing orders.
Maintain and distribute daily reports and updates to relevant departments (end‑of‑shift handoffs).
Ensure accurate inventory control and report any discrepancies or issues.
Resolve and report discrepancies, short orders, and shipping errors.
Assist Order Builders in locating commodities while assembling orders.
Adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
Required Skills and Experience
1 year of previous dispatching and receiving experience.
At least 1 year of office administrative experience.
Ability to work in
ear a refrigerated environment at 36‑40 degrees.
Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following all safety practices and food safety procedures.
Consistent attendance and punctuality; arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
Working knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
Basic math skills, counting.
Bi‑lingual English/Spanish required.
Self‑starter, strategic and independent thinker.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Must be detail oriented and analytical.
Excellent time management and capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
Adaptability/Flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved.
Strong and well‑organized communicator, both written and verbal.
