Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Dewey, Arizona (Onsite) Job Type: Full-Time; Salaried; Exempt Schedule: Monday–Friday Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 per year (based on experience)

Position Summary
ERC is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day AP operations. This role is responsible for vendor payments, invoice processing, and ensuring compliance with internal financial controls.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy.

This position offers long-term stability and a consistent scope of responsibilities. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys becoming highly proficient in their work and values a predictable, dependable position.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing

Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

Maintain accurate and organized AP documentation

Monitor aging reports and outstanding invoices

Verify compliance with contract terms and lien waiver requirements

Assist with job cost tracking and project-based accounting

Support month-end and year-end close processes (accruals, journal entries)

Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal teams

Follow internal controls and approval workflows

Partner with the Accounting Manager to improve AP processes and efficiency

Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required

1–3 years of accounts payable experience (construction industry experience a plus)

Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls

Experience with job cost coding and project-based accounting

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Clear communication and follow-through

Reliable, team-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer-based work

Frequent use of a computer, including typing and reviewing electronic and paper documents

Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email

Occasional movement within the office to access files and supplies

Ability to lift and move light materials (up to 15 pounds)
